How To Use An Attic Space
Do you have space in the attic that is not being utilized? If it is the size of a small or large room, there are so many things you could do with it instead of just letting it fill up with junk or things you will never use again. Attic spaces can be converted into various rooms that will give your home more square footage and up the value of your home.
Here are some ideas to utilize your attic space:
Bedroom
You could take that space and turn it into an extra bedroom for someone in your family or make it a guest room. The first thing you need to do is clean it out and then give it a thorough cleaning. Assuming it has some type of wood flooring, you could lay carpet or tile over the wood, or use a large area rug. If the walls have not been finished, go ahead and put sheetrock or paneling up. You might have to hire out for some tasks, but that is easy to do. Once you have done this you can add the furnishings that you desire and decorate it as you like.
Office
You can convert your attic space to an office that you can use for work or pleasure. Simply clean it up as mentioned above and decide what type of office furniture you would like. You might want to put a desk and a comfortable chair in there, as well as a little couch or chair for comfortable sitting or if you have a guest. On the walls you could put a dry erase calendar, bulletin board, and some of your favorite art.
Hobby room
Do you collect baseball cards? Do you like to paint? Scrapbook? How about creating a hobby room in the attic? All you need to do is place a table and a chair and accessorize as you like. Bring in a file cabinet or storage containers for you supplies. If you paint, you can have your easel and paints always ready to go. If you collect baseball cards, you could put your favorite collections up on the wall in display cases. The possibilities are just about endless for hobby rooms!
